Styrofoam Recycling Become Hot Topics among Related Enterprises

Most of the waste styrofoam is disposable. Millions of tons of waste are thrown into nature and they are neither discomposed nor transformation. The foam can not disappear themselves, which will lead to serious environmental pollution. In addition, they are a valuable non-renewable resources. So how to effectively recycle waste polystyrene foam has attracted widespread attention of national research workers.

Current methods for waste recycling styrofoam is to crush, melt regeneration granulated particles of another material, and then adding the adjuvant are processed into another material. However, in the production of plastic granules, making such methods not completely crush the present raw materials, and melting temperature control is uneven, while unavoidable impurities mixed in the raw material, which leads to low productivity, and because the present impurities can result in equipment damage.

Polystyrene current situation can only be used one time, which caused a great burden to the environment, so the new way of recycling is imminent.

Waste polystyrene foam is defined by the styrene monomer by free radical polymerization of synthetic polymers. It is a colorless, transparent thermoplastic, has a higher glass transition temperature of 100 ℃. It is often used to make a variety of needs to withstand the temperature of boiling water disposable containers, and disposable foam lunch boxes.

Because of its good water resistance, insulation resistance, insulation resistance, low moisture absorption and strong seismic strength, its light weight, rugged, easy to shape, low prices, is widely used in packaging, moisture, water, every heat, shock, decorating, catering and other fields penetrate all sectors of the national economy.

Styrofoam Board Construction Process Brief of Advantages and Polyethylene Foam

Styrofoam density is coefficient with good impact resistance, which have the ability to respond by changing the shape of the outside world and to buffer the impact.

Has an independent bubble structure, and a small area of damage will not affect the entire surface of the wall.

The surface with low water absorption, good anti-permeability, can effectively avoid the damp moldy walls or fall off the wall question.

Won’t be influenced by the air temperature. At high temperature, polystyrene foam board won’t be melted and flow. Also, it will not happen because the temperature is too low at low temperature embrittlement phenomenon.

Styrofoam is recyclable material that can be recycled, and the extent of recycling of plastic in the highest.

The production process does not use Freon.

Energy consumption in the whole life cycle of plastic products in the lowest.

Polyethylene foam board construction craft disadvantages:

The construction needs linked network with construction process cumbersome and long duration.

Flammable, poisonous gas after combustion. Common polystyrene foam insulation board is easy to burn. Toxic smoke produced by combustion, the combustion could still reach B grade even after adding a flame retardant.

Material strength is poor. Prone to cracking and insulation shedding phenomenon is relatively common.

Polystyrene foam insulation board need to enhance in the process because its limited strength, and load-bearing ability.

Unstable polystyrene foam insulation board quality because the material needs a period of time before being transported from factory. It can be used after a period of maturity. Quality will not be guaranteed if uncured complete, and leads to shrinkage and cracking foam board.

Waste Styrofoam Have Attracted Attentions of Countries All over the World

Most of the waste styrofoam is disposable, millions of tons of waste white trash are thrown into nature. But Styrofoam is difficult to decompose, so Styrofoam will have heavy pollution on the environment and waste non-renewable resources. How to effectively recycle waste polystyrene foam has attracted widespread attention of national research workers.

Current methods for waste Styrofoam recycling is to crush, melt regeneration granulated particles of another material, and then adding the adjuvant are processed into another material. For the common method of recycling is to handle plastic foam by crushing, melting, bracing, cut type and so on. But in the production of plastic granules will not completely crush the presence of raw materials, melting temperature control uneven. And unavoidable impurities mixed in the raw material, which could lead to low productivity, and impurities can result in equipment damage.

Styrofoam current situation can only be used one time and can cause a great burden to the environment, so the new way of recycling is imminent.

Dangote Group Plans to Expand the Production of Polyolefins in Africa

Manish Singhvi, general manager of the African diversified conglomerate Dangote Group, responsible for strategic planning, recently said the company is planning to build a $ 4 billion petrochemical complex project in the vicinity of the Lekki Lagos, Nigeria. This includes a mix raw materials of 1.1 million tons/year of ethylene and 350,000 tons/year of propylene cracker. All the propylene produced 1.7 million tons/year will be used in polypropylene production plant.

It is reported that the company also considering building a metathesis unit will increase propylene production capacity of another 600,000 tons/year. Meanwhile, the refinery project will produce 750,000 tons of propylene/year. Thus, propylene total capacity is up to 1.7 million tons of propylene/year. Dangote also plans to build two downstream polyethylene (PE) production plant, and each PE production capacity is about 550,000 tons/year, which is a high-density polyethylene production, and another is a set of linear low density polyethylene.

Dangote has determined that all the devices are made of Ineos polyolefins technology. The petrochemical plants produced about 20% will be used for polyolefin local market and 80 percent for export.

Plastic Bags Use Methods in Different Countries

Plastic limit has been dominated by the news of hotspot locations around China in the plastic limit after seven years. As a result, the effect is not ideal. How can really reduce the use of plastic bags? We use plastic bags under inventory abroad and it may be able to provide reference.

Germany: most stores allow consumers to choose whether to use a plastic bag or a canvas or cotton cloth shopping bags. Plastic bags according to size and costs, ranging from 0.05 euros to 0.5 euros, to provide consumers with a plastic shopping bag stores need to pay back fees.

Ireland: From the beginning of March 4, 2005, for each plastic shopping bag levy 13 cents of tax funds received include all environmental protection fund for environmental protection projects, a plastic bag usage dropped 90%, the tax also raised a substantial amount of money for Ireland’s environmental project.

South Korea: No matter how expensive you buy at the mall, the mall will not gift shopping bags. If consumers do not bring their own bags, you have to spend money to buy plastic bags. Stores will recover the original price, and customers can also take the old bags to the store or supermarket bags renewal. Since 1999, plastic bags usage have reduced by 60% after the implementation of charging for shopping bags.

Japan: “Containers and Packaging Recycling Law” stipulates that the amount of packaging materials used content is more than 50 tons of supermarkets, convenience stores and other retail outlets. The obligation to develop autonomous reductions target shopping bags and wrapping paper and report every annual results reduction. If found inadequate measures merchants will announce its name, the environment minister has the right to impose ¥500,000 businesses fine. Many retail outlets begin to provide paid shopping bags and encourage customers to bring their own reusable shopping bags.

EPP Foam Recycling Machine Introduction and Customer Successful Case

EPP foam have a wide use in a lot of fields, such as they are used in the fabrication of a variety of high dimension EPP blocks and sheets. Also, EPP foam have changed the fields of sports and leisure as they are lightweight and could meet specific requirements.

The Fire Source is Extruded Polystyrene Foam

Exterior insulation material could lead to fire, and the fire source is the external factors or direct factors. And polystyrene foam and extruded polystyrene foam is the internal factors of combustible.

Experimental testing found that the two materials are not chemically modified molecular flame retardant, but simply added to the material partial flame retardants. Polystyrene foam and extruded polystyrene foam can easily lead to crashing phenomenon when have fire. In addition, corresponding toxic gases will be generated and endanger human health. In other word, these two widely used exterior insulation material have a fire hazard.

Exterior insulation material, such as polystyrene foam and extruded polystyrene foam has goo insulation, water resistance and breath resistance, is widely used in the building market.

But in the construction process, the building can not be completely prevented the emergence of the fire, such as a spark generated during welding, which will produce a fire source. In addition, the insulation material is flammable, combustible and could cause a fire wall insulation phenomenon actually, which have been already doomed.

Compared with EPS polystyrene foam board, XPS foam has improved greatly in strength, insulation, and resistance to water vapor permeation performance. The full insulation properties and compressive strength can still maintain under flooding conditions, especially used in building insulation, thermal insulation and moisture treatment. It is one of today’s construction industry inexpensive construction materials.

Styrofoam Foam Box is Difficult to Guarantee Their Safety

Styrofoam box itself is not toxic, and this year polystyrene foam lunch boxes is just lifted material, which are not toxic but require pure polystyrene. But foam boxes are industrial uses and processing part may have a small amount of residual toxic substances, and they are not a food-grade containers.

For example, the industrial use of foam board need to add some additives to improve the processing performance. The additive is not necessarily guaranteed to be a non-toxic. In addition, there are a lot of reused waste plastics, and these plastic foam boxes are difficult to ensure security.

Although the material has carcinogens benzene, but using finished polystyrene processing has a high stability.

According to reports, Styrofoam is very stable after being processed into foam boxes. But if the temperature is over 70 degrees Celsius will be deformed, and will release harmful substances. The highest sunshine temperature is not over 30 degrees Celsius, which is not enough to cause precipitation of polystyrene toxic substances. Marcromolecular structure and polystyrene are not readily degradable.

However, the same process to use polystyrene disposable lunch boxes, improper use can cause problems as polystyrene will release toxic substances under high temperature or combustion. Disposable lunch boxes or soaked in oil heated will be easy to release styrene and plasticizers and other substances on human health. So disposable lunch boxes can not be used for heating or holding to high temperature food.
